BMI and It’s Basics

What Is BMI?

BMI or Body Mass Index is a measurement of weight according  to height of a particular person. It is used as an indicator  of health or how healthy you are.....A high or low BMI may lead to health problems therefore it's important  to  know about your BMI

BMI calculation is actually a easy method.One  can calculate his or her BMI easily anywhere anytime. BMI is a person's weight in kilogram divided by the square height in  meters.At first  measure your height and convert it into meter square.If you measure your height in feet then convert it into inches  by multiplying it with 12.Then you have to multiply it with 2.54 to covert your height into cm.Next you have to divide it by 100 to convert it into meters.Next you have to measure your weight  and divide it by your height(in metre square).

 Range of BMI   

Underweight - below 18.5
Normal - 18.5-24.9
Overweight - 25-29.9
Obese  - 30
Obese(class-1) - 30-34.9
Obese(class-2) -  35-39.9
Obese(class-3) - over 40

It increases health issues if one's BMI is more than 24.9 eventually it leads to obesity which is now a days one of the major health problems in all over the world and it also increases the risk of heart problem kidney failure and diabetics.We should be conscious about our health so that we can avoid these health problems.
